Mighty In Spirit

We're becoming increasingly aware of the impact that our actions have on the environment and our quality of life, but sadly while many of our homes and buildings are being built and modernized to be greener, many of our children's schools continue to waste energy and contain materials that are toxic to kids health. In fact most schools spend more on electricity bills than on books and computers. Schools are beginning to join the charge to use less and be more efficient. But did you know that schools that make strides to become more environmentally friendly are often also providing better learning environments for students? While helping the environment is definitely a key motivator, green improvements can also improve student performance by creating a healthier, more productive learning environment, providing hands-on lessons for students, and saving schools money that they can use on classroom initiatives. Pureology has teamed up with Global Green USA to create a "green s...

I would like to share this nice poem written by written by Margaret C Mullings entitled Life's Painful Experiences Life's painful experiences are really teachers for your learning, to bring you to the realization that, discipline and integrity are the order of the day. What a price you pay for every indiscretion. There is a price to pay for every careless mistake Yes, the pain seems greater than you can bear. Yet the comfort of the word rings out from Proverbs chapter 3:5&6 " Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own under- standing. ' In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path" You now realize the folly of putting your trust in people and in things. O the folly of being careless and trusting in your own intellect. With much regret and the wish that you could go back and undo what has already been done! Despair and depression now surrounds you, hope begins to flee away. At a moment's glance, the w...

Shadows are always there. The shadow of pain is like your shadow. Sometimes it is small and hard to find and then at other times it is a giant as tall as a tree. It is a constant companion that accompanies you. If you go fast it is just as fast. If you go slow it is slow. When you stop it stops. It matches you. When you are in the deepest valley your shadow is there. When at the heights of the highest mountain it is there also. I never thought that the pain would shadow you. I would expect the pain would be there when I am low and downcast. I would expect it on birthdays, holidays, and death days. But not on the good days. The happy days. The fun days. The shadow is always there. I remember when I first realized my shadow was always there. It was a revelation really. It was more than two years after James. I was teaching. This would almost seem insignificant except for the profound revelation that was revealed in this small event in time. The soccer team was goi...

Get To Know God Better You're on the adventure of a lifetime when you pursue a greater knowledge of God. What you've learned about God so far should give you a hunger to know Him even more. You must never be satisfied with what you know about Him already. Here are four practical benefits of knowing God: 1) Blessing. The more you know God and obey His will, the more you'll experience His blessings. 'If you obey all the decrees and commands I am giving you today, all will be well with you and your children… ' (Deuteronomy 4:40) 2) Peace. 'Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God… ' (2 Peter 1:2 ). The more you know God, the more at peace you'll be. Yes, struggles and setbacks will come, but even then you'll have a sense of wellbeing because you'll feel His nearness 3) Wisdom. Paul prayed that God would give the Ephesians 'a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him' (Ephesians 1:17). Wisdom is se...

When your world is suddenly turned upside down, remember, God's plans for your life haven't been cancelled! When you feel trapped with no way out, here are some things to remember: 1) Look for the river. 'There is a river whose streams make glad… ' (Psalm 46:4 NIV). In Old Testament symbolism, rivers represent God's supply for your every need. When every human source of supply seems to have dried up, don't fear, look for the river. 2) Look for the city. God has planted His 'city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells' (Psalm 46:4 NIV), right in the middle of your circumstances. God's city, the symbol of His presence and power, guarantees He's still in control and that He will restore peace and order to your troubled world. 3) Look for the signs of God's presence. 'God will help [you] at break of day' (Psalm 46:5 NIV). Daybreak, a symbol of new beginnings, gives you confidence that beyond this time of trouble and testi...

The Bible is a 'David and Goliath' book. It's filled with stories of ordinary people whose faith overcame great obstacles and impacted the world around them. That's why John the Apostle writes: "Whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world - our faith" ( 1 John 5:4 ). If you haven't heard of Irwin Rosenberg, here's his he was discharged from the Navy when he was diagnosed with cancer. That was the standard military procedure at the time. But he was determined to get back both his health and his job. At one point he was given only two weeks to live. But with faith and dogged determination he battled his cancer and eventually brought it under control. Irwin then focused his attention on becoming a naval officer again. But he discovered that navy regulations forbade reinstatement of a person discharged with cancer. Everyone around him said, "Give up. It can't be done. It would take an >A...

I stumble this article entitled “ How You Can Start Spending Smart ,” from Christian Broadcasting Network, Greg Karp author of "Living Rich by Spending Smart" shares how people can save a lot when shopping online. He recommend products and online stores where we can buy cheap but quality items, one of those mentioned is the $8 Rx eyeglasses from Zenni Optical. I love the song "Who Am I" by Casting Crowns, everytime i listen to this song i'm always humbled and grateful to God.  The song reminds us it's not who we are or what we've done that made us worthy of His love, it's because of what Jesus did for us. God, you are amazing.. wonderful.. powerful.. you are everything.. Thank you for loving us unconditionally!

He restores my soul. —Psalm 23:3 The weak and the helpless are in the Good Shepherd’s special care. This Shepherd of mine knows each trial, each snare, And at just the right moment my Lord will be there, On His shoulders to carry each burden for me— Yes, the Lord is my Shepherd, and always shall be. —Henry

Why are you so fearful? --Mark 4:40 Gospel of Mark we read: '… He said to them, 'Let us cross over to the other side'… And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, 'Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?' Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, 'Peace, be still!' And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, 'Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?' And they… said to one another, 'Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!" ( Mark 4:35-41 NKJV) . Here are two lessons you learn only in life's storms: 1) You must trust what God has told you. When Jesus said, 'Let us cross over to the other side' there wasn't a big enough wave to take them under, no matter how threatening. What has God promised you? Standing on that...

Sometimes the Lord rides out the storm with us and other times He calms the restless sea around us Most of all, He calms the storm inside us in our deepest inner soul... Lloyd John Ogilvie Praise be to God in the Highest!

This is an important announcement from Lisa of Consecrated to Him , i re-posted it here, just my way of helping their ministry. Calling all Spirit filled women of God blessed with the ability to give wise counsel who have a heart to train young women and teen girls to live wisely and pure lives. (1 Corinthians 12:8, Titus 2:4-5) --0-- The WeUsed2bu ministry team is currently looking to expand out reach! We plan to begin marketing extensively to area churches, social services and centers, and commercial businesses that might be willing to let us post and distribute our materials at their locations. We want to see our information in the hands of as many young women and girls as the Lord will allow, so that they can utilize our services. Our ultimate goal is that they would know the Lord, and grow in their relationship with Him, and we are committed to that vision and purpose. In order for this ministry to be successful, we are actively seeking volunteer counselors and contributing writ...

As the world observed the Holy Week with a long weekend, families can reflect and bond together at Bantayan Island in Cebu . Bantayan Island is a perfect getaway during the Christian Holy Week. You can combine a holiday relaxing on the fine white sands of the beaches here, while enjoying small town life and the traditional religious celebrations of this period. Bantayan is Cebu’s oldest parish, and demonstrates its faith in a solemn carroza (carriage) procession. The carriages are elaborately decorated and illuminated, and carry life-sized images of biblical characters that played a part in the passion and death of Christ.
