Draw near to God

In my heart i always wanted to be in the presence of God. The Lord tells us in His Word that when we seek Him, we will find Him. But i've been thinking, what is actually involved in seeking God? I know it's not a matter of just attending church or following a certain religious tradition. Seeking God is a matter of the heart. This one activity leads us to cross over just being "churchgoer" to becoming a follower of the "way of Christ." We seek Him, not in a mysterious mythical sense, but through intimate devotion. Psalm 42:1 wrotes: "As the deer pants for water brooks, so my soul pants for You, O God." When i speak of this bible verse, i express my longing for God, this longing to seek God ushers me into the presence of God where i can experience the fullness of His love and undivided care for my soul. Sometimes there are some who seek God only in times of crisis. In the bible, Jesus asked those who followed Him, "Why do you seek me?" Was...

On energy crisis

A well-known oil tycoon says he has the answer to solve the nation's energy crisis. Mr. T. Boone Pickens says "I've been an oil man all my life, but this is one emergency we can't drill our way out of." Mr. Pickens is building the world's largest wind farm in Texas. And this week, he is launching a national campaign focused on alternative energy. His plan would use wind as of source of electricity, rather than relying on natural gas. He says that would free up natural gas to fill our cars and end America's dependence on foreign oil. Fred Frupp with the Environmental Defense Fund said, "what a dramatic wake-up moment when a Texas tycoon tells us we have to cut our addiction to oil. It's really time for America to act." Alternative energy experts say there is enough wind to create massive amounts of electricity but they say nation's power grid is not designed to deliver it.

Give your worries to God

I can't find words to describe my feelings today. We're facing financial problem and i really don't know how to handle it this time. I was worrying too much until i found this article from The Vine. This made me realize that God is up there and that He promised to lift my spirit and help me carry my burden. Here's the story: One day a lady said to her chronic worrier friend, "Do you realise that 80% of the things you worry about never happen?" "See," her friend replied, "worry works!" Seriously, Jesus said, "Don't get worked up about what may… happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever… come[s] up" (Matthew 6:34 TM). Worry doesn't rid tomorrow of its sorrows, it just robs today of its joy. Plus when you make a mountain out of a molehill you end up having to climb it. A salesman who usually drove an old car and wore outdated clothes turned up at his office one day in a designer suit, driving a BMW. "What h...
